Program Description

Event Details

This summer, the Lyons Community Library invites you to Color Our World by exploring a variety of artistic mediums with talented local artists. Each session will highlight a different artist, giving attendees the opportunity to create their own masterpiece. All sessions are designed to cater to all skill levels. The artwork created will also have the chance to be showcased at the Lyons Community Library Chalk Art Festival and Art Expo on July 31st.

Space is limited, and attendees must register in advance for each session to ensure we have enough supplies.

July 8th - Ceramic Tile with Anita Miller
Join us for an evening of creativity and gratitude for the beauty of the earth. We will be making a ceramic tile imprinted with a leaf or flower or organic material.  Bring something you find inspiring to imprint in the clay that will fit in a 6x6 square. Suggestions are: leaves, shells, flowers, herbs. There will also be letter stamps if you want to imprint letters or words. Anita will guide everyone through the process of printing their tile and she will then glaze and fire them in her home kiln to be picked up later at the library.
