Program Description

Event Details

Drawing Differences is a three-part art series that will help kids learn to embrace and celebrate human diversity.  Through exercises in drawing different skin colors, hair textures, and facial features, we'll expand the common notion of which skin colors and features are "normal," "beautiful," and "worthy" of close artistic attention.  Each week will focus on a different affirmation – We see color; We see individuals; and We feel seen – while participants use materials to create portraits and learn to notice the differences that make us all unique. Registration is required and preference will be given to those who can attend all three classes as space is limited.

Drawing Differences was created by arts educators Paula Liz, Libya Doman, and Khadesia Latimer in collaboration with EmbraceRace (www.embracerace.org).
