Thank you for your interest in this series. The class and waitlist are full and we are no longer taking interest forms. We hope to continue to offer similar programs in the future, so please stay tuned.

We are excited to offer a Beginner’s Drawing series this summer taught by Lyons’ own Anita Miller. If you’ve ever wanted to learn to draw but thought, I have no artistic skill; I’ll never be able to draw, or I can’t draw anything more than a stick figure, then this class is for you!

Utilizing concepts found in Betty Edwards’ Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, you will learn the skill of perception and unlock your brain’s ability to draw. This class is for true beginners, those who have never picked up a pencil to sketch or perhaps haven’t done so in twenty years.

This is a five-week course, meeting every Friday morning in June from 10am-12:30pm at the library. Participants will register for the entire series and should plan to attend every class. Attendance is limited to 10 people. Copies of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain will be available for participants to checkout at he library circulation desk. Supplies are included.

We are offering this series as a free class for district residents, and recognize that you would pay $150-$200 for a comparable class in a studio setting. Donations to the Friends of the Lyons Library are welcome, and will help support funding for future art classes, supplies, and programs.

Class Dates: June 2nd, June 9th, June 16th, June 23rd, and June 30th

Class Time: 10:00am – 12:30pm
