Have you ever been curious about those colorful gems flying over pond and stream? Come learn about the amazing life of dragonflies and their damsel cousins...their acrobatic flying, their huge multi-faceted eyes, their convoluted mating schemes, and their behavioral quirks.
Although dragonflies have been around for 300 million years, we are only now learning about these evolutionary miracles. Worldwide there are around 6500 species, but fortunately, here in Boulder County, we have a more manageable 73 and counting. Join us to learn how to differentiate dragonflies from damselflies, about their 3-stage life cycle, and some helpful clues to assist with field identification.
After an evening training class, we’ll have a field trip to Pella Crossing for those wanting to practice their new skills. Register for the field trip here!
