The essence of making ATCs is about experimenting and playing and practicing and learning and sharing different techniques by making multiple pieces of miniature "art," so it is not just about about making one piece of art to take home.
At our ATC Playshop we will emphasize process rather than product. The essence of ATCs is this: "The Trade is the Thing." At the ATC Playshop we will be making several cards, enough that each person can keep one for themselves and have plenty to trade with other participants. We try not to worry about perfection and art being too precious. We encourage each other to experiment and to let go of thinking that art-making is only for the talented experts and professionals.
We never sell our ATCs, we only trade them. Thus the name of the group is "Art-4-Art."
